FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT

PERMANENT MAKE-UP

What is Permanent Makeup?

Permanent makeup is a type of cosmetic tattooing where pharmaceutical grade pigments are applied to the lower dermis of your skin to give a wonderful shadow of colour that looks like the most perfectly applied makeup. Any traditional makeup colour that you can find can be matched by Tracy for a permanent cosmetic enhancement.

Does it look natural?

Yes, if you go to a reputable and highly experienced practitioner, your permanent makeup will look as natural and attractive as conventional cosmetics – indeed, because it has been applied by a professional makeup artist it will look sensational!

Who would benefit from permanent make-up?

Anyone who wants to look their best anytime or anywhere should consider permanent enhancements. You will look younger, fresher and more attractive and will save valuable hours every week by not having to apply and reapply your makeup.

Permanent makeup is also ideal for people who take part in sport, have difficulty applying makeup or are allergic to cosmetics. It can also help to camouflage scarring and bring life-changing benefits to alopecia sufferers and to people who have had breast reconstruction work or have experienced hair loss following chemotherapy treatment.

Does it hurt?

There’s nothing to worry about on that score. Sompe clients have likened the sensation to having their eyebrows tweezed. A simple cream will help to numb the area if you do feel any discomfort.

What features can you improve?

We can give you beautiful eyebrows and lashes, perfect lips, and cheeks which glow with health. Under our medical procedures we can help people who have suffered hair loss or have had breast surgery.

What will I look like after my treatment?

Although some people may have a little swelling or redness this will soon disappear. For the first few days after your treatment, your makeup will look a little darker but the colours will soon lighten to create your desired look.

How long does it last for?

You should consider it to be permanent.  The colours will appear a little darker for the first few days but the enhancement soon lightens, and a retouch will be scheduled between four and six weeks to achieve a perfect result.

The implanted pigment will gradually fade over time, so Tracy advises her clients to plan to come in every 18 months or so for a colour boost, so that the permanent make-up looks never noticeably changes.

Can I still wear conventional make-up?

Yes, permanent makeup is designed to enhance your natural features but you still have the option of ‘ringing the changes’ by applying conventional makeup.

Is permanent make-up expensive?

Not really. It’s difficult to give a price because treatments are tailor-made to your individual requirements – it could be a simple beauty spot, an eyeliner procedure or more complicated work. If you balance out the cost against the lasting results that permanent cosmetics give you, the treatment offers really good value. But just call us, tell us what you want and we’ll give you a price.
