During my five years as a make-up artist I think I know a thing or two about good make-up artists and the very best make-up artists. A good makeup artists know how to match foundation to perfection, know how to conceal, how to apply the right colour on the lips and how to use blusher and bronzers to finish off the makeup look. The best make-up artists contour and highlight “every” client, making the most of the clients features.
If you want any chance of becoming the go-to makeup artist in fashion or celebrity circles, then you “need”, no you “must” master the art of contouring and highlighting.
Contouring techniques are employed to balance the face shape and to enhance features. Contouring and highlighting is essential for any type of photographic make-up particularly black and white photography.
This half day course will teach you how to:
Thin the nose
Shade the face
Emphasise cheekbones
Highlight brow bones
Hide a double chin
Make lips look more pronounced
Improve a client’s cleavage
Make the collar bones more pronounced
Achieve the “burn” made famous by celebrity make-up artist Sam Fine, a contouring technique for darker skin tones
Enrolment Limit: 10
The course has been designed for students with previous experience either practical experience or basic makeup training. To get the most out of this course you should have experience of basic make up application.
