My New Teeth Got Me Promoted!

“For as long as I can remember I’ve absolutely hated my teeth. They were so crooked and discoloured, I’d talk with my hand over my mouth and I never smiled properly. It sounds odd but it actually affected the whole shape of my face. I looked unnatural because I tried to keep my lips together when I talked and I didn’t laugh properly. I’m a happy person but trying to hide my teeth made me look miserable, and people were constantly telling me to cheer up.

The older I got, the more my teeth bothered me. They definitely affected my confidence. When I went to job interviews, I’d try not to laugh and when I spoke I’d put my hand in front of my mouth, which must have looked really odd.

Then a couple of years ago, I bought a video camera and I was shocked at just how bad my teeth were. I thought about having them whitened and braces fitted, but when I was told I’d have to keep a brace in for at least two years I decided against it. That’s when I started to do some research into veneers.

To be honest, I thought it was something only pop stars had done. When I had a free consultation and thy showed me what m teeth would look like, I was amazed. Even though it was going to cost £12,000, I knew it would be money well spent. Veneers are a bit like false fingernails for the teeth, and they’re made of porcelain.

The treatment involved two sessions and was uncomfortable at times, but utterly worth it as the difference they made was incredible. The first time I looked in the mirror after I’d had them fitted it was like seeing someone completely new. The shape of my face seems to have changed and, weirdly, I don’t get such large bags under my eyes anymore. My mum was so pleased for me that she burst into tears when she saw them. I can’t stop smiling, and now that I don’t look so grumpy I’m getting a much better reaction from people.

Life gets better and better….

A month after I had m teeth done I got promoted - something I’ve wanted for years. I work in the civil dealing with employment tribunals, and I’ve gone from doing admin work to managing a team of ten, which I absolutely love. It was always my dream to apply for a promotion but I never had the confidence to go for it. My new teeth changed all that! The veneers have even improved my relationship with m boyfriend, Paul, who I’ve been with for six years. Before I had them, I was very insecure and jealous. It might sound silly, but I used to think Paul was looking at other women because they had pretty teeth, which caused major rows between us. Now that I’m far more confident about the way I look, we’ve stopped arguing and he’s asked me to marry him. I can’t believe that in one year I’ve had a promotion and a marriage proposal – and all because of my new teeth!’
