The styling for long hair course teaches a combination of hairstyles from the very basics through to more advanced styling. Suitable for beginners who would like to learn how to style long hair for special occasions, brides and commercial photoshoots.

All hair equipment, products and tools will be supplied for your use during the class time. A set of handouts covering all the teachings on this course will be given to each student for future reference. Students will be taught by demonstration followed by practical sessions working on a mannequin head. You may find it useful to bring writing materials and a camera.

Tools of the trade.
Sectioning and blowdrying.
Roller setting.
Various plaiting, twisting and braiding techniques.
Backcombing.
Bouffant.
Classic French pleat.
Concealed/fashion ponytails.
Setting and dressing for long lasting loose curls.
Various ways of styling curls.
Introduction to hairpieces - ponytails, wefts, synthetic and real hairpieces.
Looping and pinning.
Tonging techniques.
Barrel curls.
Working with hair padding.
Quick bun techniques.
Chain braiding and rope twists.
Contemporary hairstyles.
Elegant red carpet hairstyles.
Bridal hairstyles.
Soft tousled hairstyles.
Attaching and securing hair accessories, flowers, tiaras and English wedding veils.
A total of 12 hairstyles will be covered along with some additional techniques.

Day 1: 9.30am - 5pm
Day 2: 9am - 5pm
If you cant make the scheduled training dates then this course can be taken as a one to one upon request, or if the minimum number of 2 students aren’t met then the course will be offered as a one to one option. This is possible because one to one training moves at a faster pace and the training days are slightly longer in time therefore the full course content is still able to be covered.
