This course is designed to develop knowledge of cosmetic make-up, eye treatments and personal presentation. Emphasis is on practical work with appropriate theory instruction to gain a fundamental understanding of the subject. Entry Requirements: Minimum age 18 years. Minimum 3 GCSEs at grade C or above to include English. VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Health, Safety and Employment Standards(this qualification can be completed whilst studying the Level 2 Certificate).
Course Content:
Skin types, face shapes, corrective day and evening make up, highlighting, shading and corrective techniques, cleansing products, eyelash tinting, eyebrow shaping, false lashes, eyelash perming, facial anatomy and physiology. Units are:
- Apply and instruct on cosmetic make up - Provide lash and brow treatments - Support employment standards - Support health, safety and security in the workplace
The course leads to the Certificate in Cosmetic Make-up validated by VTCT. This qualification has national and international recognition and involves continual practical assessment, together with written assignments and written external examinations. Students will be required to produce a portfolio of work. Depending on the work required, students will need to provide a model. Final verification will take place during the day and students are expected to make themselves available. Progression VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Fashion and Photographic Make Up, VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Theatrical and Media Make Up, employment in industry as a Make up Consultant
