Course Details:

This course is designed to develop a knowledge and practical appreciation of Indian Head Massage techniques. Emphasis is on practical work with appropriate theory instruction to gain a fundamental understanding of the subject.

Entry Requirements

Minimum age 18 years. English GCSE or equivalent grade C or above, Beauty Therapy/Nursing qualification in anatomy and physiology preferred. VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Health, Safety and Employment standards (this qualification can be completed whilst studying the diploma).

Content

Indian Head Massage technique

Units:

Indian Head Massage treatment,
use interpersonal skills with therapy clients,
support employment standards,
support health,
safety and security in the workplace

This course leads to the Diploma in Indian Head Massage validated by VTCT (Vocational Training Charitable Trust). The qualification involves practical and theoretical assessment, the building of a portfolio and the carrying out of a series of case studies. External written examinations will take place weekday evenings.

Depending on the work required, students will need to bring a model and may need to make themselves available for final verification during the day, if required by VTCT.

VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Swedish Body Massage, VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Reflexology, VTCT Level 2 Beauty Specialist Diploma, employment in complementary therapy industry

Additional Information

Places will be reserved on receipt of full payment and will be on a first come, first served basis. Assessment will take place 6 weeks after training days. Early application is advisable as these courses are popular. The College reserves the right to only run a course if enrolment has reached minimum required numbers.
